Japanese Music refers to the various musical traditions and contemporary genres originating from Japan. It encompasses a wide range of styles, including traditional forms such as Gagaku (court music), Noh and Kabuki theatre music, Folk music (min’yō), and instruments like the shamisen, koto, and shakuhachi. In contrast, contemporary Japanese music includes J-Pop (Japanese pop), J-Rock (Japanese rock), and other genres influenced by Western music, characterized by unique aesthetic elements and urban sounds.
