Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, each consisting of nine players. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field, which includes four bases arranged in a square. One team, the batting team, attempts to hit a ball thrown by the opposing team’s pitcher and then run around the bases to score runs, while the second team, the fielding team, aims to get batters out by catching the ball, throwing it to bases, or striking out the batter.

The objective of baseball is to score more runs than the opposing team. A run is scored when a player successfully rounds all four bases and returns to home plate after hitting the ball. The game is divided into nine innings, with each team getting a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning.

Baseball is known for its rich history and tradition and is often referred to as America’s pastime. It has a variety of professional leagues worldwide, with Major League Baseball (MLB) being the most prominent in the United States. The sport emphasizes strategy, teamwork, and individual skill, making it a popular pastime for both players and fans.
