Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a round ball into the opposing team’s net using any part of the body except the arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeeper, who can use their hands within a designated area. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with goals at each end.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is one of the most popular sports worldwide, played at both amateur and professional levels, with a significant following and various competitive leagues and tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, which is the most prestigious international competition. The game emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness. Football promotes skills such as passing, dribbling, and shooting, and fosters a strong sense of community and culture among its fans.
